In May 2018, METAXA hosted an intimate, yet exclusive event at one of the hottest rooftops in Athens, welcoming journalists, bloggers, and influencers for a night full of surprises.

To mark its 130 anniversary, the House of Metaxa revealed a new brand campaign, expressing its new vision of exploration. To find the embodiment of this sensorial journey, METAXA went on a quest for outstanding characters who exude a sense of exploration into their daily lives – unique individuals who share the METAXA vision: Mike Horn, Laura Bingham, and Guillaume Néry.

The brand’s new ambassadors and world-renowned explorers, Laura and Guillaume, were present at the event, sharing personal stories of exploration and adventure.

This announcement was followed by a tasting of METAXA 12 Stars, led by the Metaxa Master himself, Constantinos Raptis, and brought to life with a magnificent table of aromas.

Then, The Clumsies team voted 6th best bar in the world, joined METAXA to announce their joint partnership for Explore Greece, a journey celebrating their shared passion for mixology. In July 2018, a sailing boat with five of the world’s top bartenders explored three stunning Greek islands (Mykonos, Antiparos, Paros) creating three unique experiences, and offering unique METAXA 12 Stars creations inspired by Greece.

The night ended with a cocktail tasting at the open terrace of the hotel under the Athenian sky. The Clumsies team introduced their Explorer Signature Cocktails with METAXA 12 Stars, imagined to represent our three explorers’ distinct personalities; Pole2Pole for Mike Horn, Deep Dive for Guillaume Nery and Smooth Ride for Laura Bingham.
