Cool and dry, housing a forest of oak casks, the House of Metaxa cellars are the heart of the Original Greek Spirit, holding stories, secrets, and aromas.
The House of Metaxa distillery was originally in Piraeus, but the spirit’s fame and demand made necessary a move to newer, more spacious establishments necessary. In the outskirts of Athens, in a location that benefits from the nearby cool mountain breezes, the METAXA cellars found a new home.
This is where that the Muscat wines and fine distillates mature slowly to reach their ideal character and be finally selected to become METAXA.
