In 1888, Spyros Metaxa invented a Greek spirit which exists to the present day. By blending old Muscat wines and different herbs he created one of the finest brandies worldwide: the Metaxa.

First, the brandy was only exported to the United States but soon the Greek brandy producer invited people from all over the world to taste the spirit of Greece out of a Metaxa bottle. Today the drink is popular in more than 130 countries.
