Greece, June 2009 METAXA goes to Hollywood

The international Greek spirit was present in an international Hollywood movie: "My Life in Ruins" with Oscar nominee Nia Vardalos and dreamy Greek star Alexis Georgoulis. This film, produced by Tom Hanks, has been made by the same director as "My Big Fat Greek Wedding".

The movie tells a story of a tour guide-Georgia, who spends a year in Greece trying to get in touch with her ¨mojo¨ (or ¨kefi¨ as it is called in Greece). In this endeavor, she and her co-starring actors, get the chance to enjoy our favourite long drink at the most beautiful vacation locations of Greece! In fact, the bottle of METAXA 5* appears very clearly on the screen and the hero even orders a METAXA & TONIC in a bar.

During the launch of the movie in Greece, movie-goers were greeted by METAXA hostesses offering METAXA & TONIC cocktails-like the ones savored by Nia Vardalos and Alex Georgoulis-for tasting. The cinema lobbies were decorated with METAXA banners and lightboxes.
